In this magnificent photograph I have caught the wave created by the backwash off the basalt rocks colliding with an incoming wave. The result of the collision is this spectacular wave pattered splash that is about 10 metres (30 foot) high.
This image was photographed at Rocky Point, in Bunbury, Western Australia.
For the technically minded, this photograph was shot on a Canon 6D camera at 100 ISO, f8 for 1/320 second shutter speed.
Hello all, and thankyou for visiting my little area on the wide world web. I have lived in the south west corner of Australia all my life. My love of photography started over 30 years ago. I gave up smoking cigarettes, and started photographing. Did not save any money, but now live a lot healthier life style. I love nothing more than to get about, and to photograph the wonderful world we live in. I try to capture things as they really are. I do very little editing in photoshop. A lot of my older photographs were taken on film, and then scanned to a digital image. Now days, the only time I use film is photographing thunder storms.
